Todd Watanabe, M.D.

Dr. Todd Watanabe is a board-certified, fellowship trained pediatric ophthalmologist and adult strabismus specialist.
He graduated with High Honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara and obtained his Medical Degree from UCLA. He then went to the University of Arizona for his residency in Ophthalmology where he served his final year as Chief Resident. Dr. Watanabe pursued further training and completed his fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at the University of Minnesota.
After fellowship, Dr. Watanabe joined the Cincinnati Eye Institute where he was eventually appointed director of the pediatric ophthalmology service. In 2001, he was recruited back to the Twin Cities to join St. Paul Eye Clinic. In addition to his clinical duties at St. Paul Eye Clinic, Dr. Watanabe actively teaches and lectures at the University of Minnesota.
He is a well-respected clinician and surgeon specializing in pediatric ophthalmology, and pediatric and adult strabismus (eye muscle disorders). He also sees children and their parents for routine eye exams and vision screenings.
Dr. Watanabe, his wife, and two children live in Woodbury. During his spare time he enjoys swimming, biking, and hiking.
