Eric Steffen , M.D.
Dr. Eric Steffen is a fellowship trained and board-certified glaucoma specialist and cataract surgeon.
He was born in Madison, Wisconsin and earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry as well as his medical degree from Creighton University. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. After residency he completed a fellowship in glaucoma at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he learned the latest in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. He then spent 2 ½ years on the faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Medical School where he actively taught medical students, residents and fellows.
Dr. Steffen's expertise includes the medical, surgical, and laser treatment of advanced glaucoma, cataracts, and comprehensive ophthalmology.
He operates at Midwest Surgery Center, Phillips Eye Institute, United and Children's Hospital, and St. Paul Surgery Center.
Dr. Steffen has been involved in medical service trips to Appalachia in western Virginia, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. He helped provide free medical care to people who ordinarily had little or no access to health care. He lives in Little Canada with his wife.
Dr. Steffen is a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Ramsey Medical Society.
