WHY CHOOSE ST. PAUL EYE CLINIC LASER VISION CENTER
St. Paul Eye Clinic, P.A., has offered high quality eye care in the Twin Cities since 1952. In addition to a long history of excellence in ophthalmic surgery, we have been involved with refractive surgery for over 15 years. The St. Paul Eye Clinic LASIK surgeons believe in seeing all their surgical patients from the initial free screening through the surgical procedure until the last post-operative visit. The St. Paul Eye Clinic believes that only the surgeons themselves, utilizing state-of-the-art technology, are best equipped to make the pre-operative measurements. In addition, our surgeons analyze the data, counsel prospective patients about the risks and benefits of surgery and detect any rare complications early in the post-operative period.
All St. Paul Eye Clinic LASIK surgeons are board-certified ophthalmologists (medical eye doctors with residency training in eye disease).
St. Paul Eye Clinic Laser Vision Center utilizes the latest state-of-the-art WaveScan and CustomView technology as well as the VISX S4 auto-tracking, auto-centering, smooth scan laser.
The St. Paul Eye Clinic has been an established, well-respected eye care provider in the Twin Cities since 1952. St. Paul Eye Clinic has provided, and will continue to provide all of your eye-care needs at any of our seven east metro locations.
APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING
Our physicians and staff are committed to helping you decide if refractive surgery is right for you. The first step will be to call our Laser Vision Center and schedule an appointment to meet with one of our LASIK surgeons. Your eyes will be examined to determine if you are a candidate. Your surgeon will then recommend a procedure, giving you the information you need to make an educated decision. The St. Paul Eye Clinic offers two types of appointments to patients considering laser vision correction.
Free Refractive Screening Appointment
- This is a brief visit that will help determine if you are a candidate for refactive surgery.
- There is no charge for the visit and are under no obligation to proceed with surgery.
- The screening will last approximately 1 hour.
- Your surgeon will explain the different options on how to improve your vision.
- After you have completed this appointment and are deemed a candidate by our physicians, you are now ready to schedule your REFRACTIVE CONSULTATION.
Refractive Consultation Appointment
- In order for your doctor to take the most accurate measurements, please leave your soft contact lenses out for two weeks prior to your appointment (three weeks for gas permeable or hard lenses). If you are already scheduled for surgery, you may want to continue to leave your lenses out after your evaluation, as your eyes will need to be without contacts for the two or three weeks prior to surgery as well.
- Your eyes will be dilated at this evaluation with strong dilating drops. Your close vision will be blurry and you may be light sensitive for eight to twelve hours. If you are very sensitive to dilating drops, you may be affected for up to 48 hours.
- The refractive consultation is usually a longer exam. Allow one and a half to two hours for your visit.
- The cost of the evaluation is $100.00 and will be collected at the time of your appointment. If you decide to proceed with refractive surgery, we will deduct this amount from the cost of your procedure.
