Dr. Uttley Quoted in MinnPost News Story on the CDC’s Recent Report on Contact Lens Health Statistics

But a recently-released report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows that when contact lens wearers forgo some of the seemingly tedious care steps, infections of varying degrees are likely to pop up. Because St. Paul Eye Clinic’s Dr. Uttley is a Corneal Specialist (and corneas oftentimes take the brunt of such eye infections), MinnPost interviewed him on this report and highlighted his recommendations for avoiding such infections.

“While contacts are safe and effective in most people, we certainly see complications — and that’s usually when patients aren’t wearing contacts as they should be,” said Dr. Uttley.
